Back in 2015 I modded a white GBA to have an AGS-101 screen inside it (from a Gameboy SP I butchered and now regret due to the availability of the AGS-101 screens on eBay). The mod turned out acceptable and I added a little glass screen but it came with some issues. You have a TYPE A AGS-101 screen which means you need to have a 32 pin motherboard. Even with the right adapter you will get washed out colors if you do not match the motherboard and LCD correctly. Essentially title. I installed the mod and it works great, but there a times when I want to play at night and I don't like being assaulted by the bright AGS 101 screen. Is there a mod I can attach to the ribbon cable or is there a new cable I would have to buy with an integrated brightness switch? Thanks for reading!

Got this ags 101 off eBay for like 36$ for parts (wasn’t scammed or anything I totally knew what I was getting into) and it was confirmed to have water damage. Ribbon on the screen looked good and so did the 4 lcd layers so I had some hope I could salvage this screen for a gba ags 101 mod. Brightness can be regulated with SELECT + shoulder buttons. I don't think it's a bad deal, and while it's not the screen that I opted for it's still a very enjoyable experience, in some ways probably better than what I would have gotten with VgV4IwH.
