Some might consider this hard enough, but with some regular play, even a Free to Play account can get top tier ascended gear, being no different than a Paid account that refuses to take Mistlock singularities and use Elite Specialisations. So to make this challenge unique, I wanted to play more into the Free to Play restrictions.
No. They appear on the list but say that I need to purchase the expansions. FYI - I have to go into the Steam folder and open the game using the executable. The game does not start from the Steam icon (shortcut). I do not know if that is pertinent. Also - I cannot create the Revenant class - it is greyed out. 11.2k. Posted January 25, 2019. There are a lot of reasons why all player-to-player trade is mediated through the trading post (and if you want to learn about them, there are several threads up that go over that in detail). As an alternative, the r/GW2Exchange subreddit exists to facilitate exactly this sort of thing. All the dailies (have non expansions but "paid" account from back then when you had to buy main game) give 2 gold - which is nice. And some mid level crafting mats (especially the leather) sell nicely. I still do salvage - for achievement and the better stuff for ectoplasm - a lot of stuff which gives me leather.I know yall tired of questions about f2p peeps but i have a few ones. I started playing the game yesterday and was going thru divinity's reach looking at people that looked amazing and stuff and uhm, im gonna guess those are skins.. so i was looking at the trading market or whatever it is and most of the stuff i couldnt buy because im f2p.. so my question is, can i obtain skins or cool looking
It is not just F2P. Core doesn't have access to it either and if you go by the dialog having just PoF doesn't have access to it either. I see no problem with the suggestion to remove the gating from guild services. But as long as ANet thinks it's a useful incentive, I don't don't see why they should. I made a F2P account, ran a F2P Thief Condi build and all I did was run from side node to side node. In about a day or two of playing constantly, I placed into Gold 2 and just hit Plat this morning. Every single game, I didn't teamfight. I literally just put on a YouTube video, ran to one side node and waited and ran to the other.Cooldowns are passive (e.g. reduce damage by 10% vs. cause the next attack to miss). You also spend the first 30 levels on most classes using the equivalent of an auto-attack chain with a whopping 2.5 second GCD between skill uses.
GW2 has strongly suffered the lack of any lasting trial, and the core game now being free to play, finally allows people to test the game before committing to paying for expansions in the futurePaid play is actually buying the expansions, which is it's own set of storylines and maps. It's all endgame stuff. As for P2W, it's a bit complicated. The elite specializations and skills you get from the expansions are more powerful or grant more utility than you'll get from pure F2P most times.

And you will have to google/youtube the story either way, at your own pace. As a f2p you get the New Light quest, some strikes, 1 dungeon, and 2 raids. The free to play version of the game is a demo at best. There's no limitation on power level or anything like that, but your available content is very limited.
